Ace left-hander Teddy Higuera, recovering from back surgery, was placed on the 15-day disabled list by the Milwaukee Brewers and will get a rehabilitation assignment in the minors.

Higuera, 69-38 in four major league seasons, underwent back surgery Jan. 20 and has not pitched an inning this spring. The Brewers open the season at Cleveland April 3.
