A new season on Fox, new discoveries in outer space and old jokes from George Burns highlight the TV weekend.

Fox Broadcasting gets the jump on the big three networks this weekend with the season premiere of three series. Tonight, the fourth network’s low-rated, futuristic magazine show, “Beyond Tomorrow,” begins its second season at 9:30 p.m. (11)(6). There is also a new installment of “The Reporters” at 8:30 p.m.

Sunday at 9 p.m., Fox’s top-rated show, “Married . . . With Children,” begins its third ribald year. Katey Sagal and Ed O’Neill star as Peggy (Sagal) despairs over a neighborhood Peeping Tom who peeks at everyone but her. And “Open House,” this year’s retooled model of the failed “Duet,” bows at 9:30 p.m. with Alison La Placa at the head of the cast.

Today at 5 a.m., CNN will recount Voyager’s entire 12-year mission with special attention paid to this week’s spectacular visit to the eighth planet in our solar system. Sunday at 7 p.m., TBS offers another rehashing of Voyager’s mission, complete with up-to-the-minute photographs from deep space. Carl Sagan and Sidney Poitier host.

Closer to home, the Disney Channel examines the career of one of America’s favorite entertainers in “A Conversation with George Burns,” Sunday at 9 p.m.

This one-hour special, taped at the Disney/MGM Studios in Florida, can be seen for free on some cable systems as part of the pay-cable channel’s free fall preview week.
