Elliott Corp. of Newport Beach has started construction on two retail stores at Tustin Market Place, a 400,000-square-foot community shopping center.

The stores are T.J. Maxx, an off-price apparel retailer, and Ross Dress for Less, a discount clothier. Both are leasing 23,000-square-foot spaces, according to Elliott Corp. Construction is scheduled to be completed in October.

Tustin Market Place, which is owned by the Irvine Co., is on Jamboree Road just off the Santa Ana Freeway. The first phase opened in November, 1988.
