Authorities are investigating a hit-and-run traffic collision Saturday that killed a Mojave woman in Lancaster, Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies said.
Betty Underhill, 55, died about 2:30 p.m. when the car driven by her husband was struck by a yellow pickup truck that failed to stop at a stop sign, Deputy Cory Kennedy said.
Harthwell Underhill, 58, was driving north on 60th Street West when the truck, traveling east on Avenue F, struck his car. The car left the road and apparently rolled over three or four times before coming to rest, Kennedy said.
Betty Underhill died at the scene. Her husband was treated and released from Antelope Valley Hospital Medical Center.
