ITT Corp.: The New York electronic, insurance and financial services company said third-quarter profit dipped 4% to $221 million, while revenue rose 4% to $4.9 billion. ITT said: “Hurricane Hugo losses and the continuing industrywide downturn in the property and casualty insurance business were the major factors affecting quarterly comparisons.”
