Big Stripers Hitting at Silverwood
As the waters cool, most Southern California lakes are going through the fall transition from bass to trout, but Lake Silverwood, near Interstate 15, continues to produce a series of big striped bass.
Trish Hooper of Colton caught a 28-pound striper while fishing, according to Jean Bryant at the marina, “under the guidance of Michael Pleasant”--which means he told her where to fish and helped her pull the fish in.
The stripers started boiling after recent trout plants, rising to feed on the smaller fish.
