Securities Issues Up, Underwriting Fees Down: In 1989, corporations issued a record $307.7 billion in domestic securities, up 11.9% from the previous year, according to a report by New York-based IDD Information Services. However, due to increased competition among investment houses, underwriting fees for the year fell 20.9% to $3.07 billion.
