Cohu Inc. reported that net income for the fourth-quarter ended Dec. 31, 1989, fell to $472,000, down from $793,000 during the previous fourth quarter. Revenue for the quarter rose by 14% to $8.9 million, up from $7.8 million a year earlier. Net income for the year ended Dec. 31 fell to $2.5 million, down from $2.7 million a year earlier. Revenue for the year rose by 5% to $35.3 million, up from $33.6 million.

Cohu Chairman and President James W. Barnes said that all of the company’s operations were profitable during 1989 and ended the year with substantial backlogs.
