Motel Guest Is Shot From Adjoining Room
A man who was cleaning his handgun in a motel room accidently shot a woman in the head in an adjoining room when his weapon fired through the wall, police said.
The victim, Olga O. Magallanes, 37, of Tucson, Ariz., was conscious and talking to police when she was taken to Humana Hospital-West Anaheim.
“She was in bed when the shot woke her up,” Sgt. Terry Branum said.
Dominic A. Burchfield, 26, of Anaheim, was arrested on suspicion of shooting a weapon inside a dwelling. The shooting occurred at 7:44 p.m. at the Capri Motel on the 6800 block of Beach Boulevard, police said.
