New Signs Will Be Installed During Closure of Northbound L.B. Freeway
Caltrans will close all lanes of the northbound Long Beach Freeway (710) from Long Beach Boulevard to the Artesia Freeway (91) in North Long Beach beginning at midnight tonight to 5 a.m. Friday.
As an alternate route, motorists are advised to exit the northbound Long Beach Freeway onto Long Beach Boulevard, then take the eastbound on-ramp onto the Artesia Freeway to rejoin the northbound Long Beach Freeway at the 91 interchange.
The reason for the closure is to enable Caltrans crews to install new freeway signs. Traffic on southbound lanes will be unaffected by the sign installations.
Another closure the following night will affect the northbound Long Beach Freeway at Firestone Boulevard in South Gate. The No. 3 and 4 lanes will be closed from midnight Friday to 5 a.m. Saturday, also for sign installations.
