June Sales And Use Tax Revenues

Share

In June, the most recent month for which information is available, Orange County cities received a collective $23.3 million in sales and use tax rebates from the state. The largest amount, 13% of the total, went to Anaheim; the smallest to Villa Park.

Each month city and county governments and other governmental organizations receive payments from the state in anticipation of actual sales tax revenues. In the fourth month, they receive a cleanup payment--the difference between actual revenues and the amounts previously received--plus the first advance payment for the next quarter. The amounts listed here are a cleanup payment for the first quarter of 1990 and the first advance payment for the second quarter.
