SLEEK CHIC : Quick Changes

Each season, a few wardrobe updates define fashion’s newest look. This fall, color sets the stage. Vibrant shades such as tomato red, lime green and marigold yellow can be mixed together in one bold outfit or worn sparingly to spice up dark solids. Look for shapes reminiscent of the ‘60s, though less rigid than the geometric dresses of Courreges or Mary Quant. Proportions are full on top and narrow at the bottom--try a short swing coat paired with slim stirrup pants. For colder weather, a quilted jacket in silk or velvet is best, especially if it has a sporty hood. To polish a fall outfit, add one or more of the season’s essential accessories: colorful tights, short boots, small earrings and a crushed hat.
