HUNTINGTON BEACH : City Hall Changes Should Aid Public

Share

City Hall is scheduled for some interior building changes, and officials say the goal is to make it easier for the public to be served.

A key change will be to put a public information counter, now on the second floor, on the first floor so that people have an immediate place to ask questions and seek directions.

The counter will also sell city of Huntington Beach souvenirs and publications.

The remodeling work also calls for small interior changes on the second and fifth floors of City Hall. Affected agencies will be the city treasurer’s department, the economic development department, community services and administrative services.

Richard Barnard, deputy city administrator, said the city has estimated the cost of the work at $62,054. He said that plans for the remodeling currently are being completed and that then a contractor will be selected.

“We hope to see all the building changes in place by the end of this year,” he said.
