Allan Bristow, an executive for the Charlotte Hornets, has apologized for grabbing and pushing the agent for first-round draft pick Kendall Gill during negotiations Thursday.

Bristow offered to pay medical expenses resulting from the incident involving agent Arn Tellem, the NBA said.

“We were negotiating hard on behalf of our clients and I guess I got carried away,” Bristow said. “Arn conducted himself professionally at all times, and I know that I was wrong and I’m sorry.”

Tellem said Bristow’s statement “closes the incident.”

“I just want to get back to business as usual and make sure Gill is signed as soon as possible,” the agent said.

The league did not say if Tellem was injured during the incident in Charlotte, but earlier reports said he suffered a sprained neck.

NBA Commissioner David Stern said no action would be taken against Bristow.
