Ooby Dooby, a Moobie: Roy Orbison’s widow, Barbara, and film producer Steve Tisch will co-produce a biographical movie about the late singer. The movie will cover Orbison’s life, from growing up in a small Texas town during the Depression to his death from a heart attack in December, 1988, at age 52. The film will be a drama, not a documentary. Tisch said negotiations were under way with Warner Bros. pictures to finance and distribute the production. Mrs. Orbison and Tisch said they have already been flooded with inquiries from actors about the leading role. The film will be sprinkled with Orbison songs, including some previously unreleased masters. Filming will probably begin in spring, 1991.
