Ida M. Barone; Retired Postal Clerk

Ida M. Barone, who worked as a postal clerk in Van Nuys, has died at her Sepulveda home. She was 67.

Mrs. Barone died Monday of natural causes, said her daughter, Darlene Rodner.

Born Ida M. Pisano on April 11, 1923, in Buffalo, N.Y., she worked as a hairdresser before moving to the San Fernando Valley in the mid-1950s. She was later hired as a postal clerk at the Van Nuys branch of the U.S. Postal Service, where she worked until her retirement in the early 1970s. Mrs. Barone was a member of Wilkinson Senior Citizens Center in Northridge.

She is survived by her son, Tom Barone of Sepulveda; daughters Darlene Rodner of Northridge and Jeannine Barone of Sepulveda; a brother, Vito Pisano of Akron, Ohio; sisters Margaret Rizzo of West Seneca, N.Y., Rose Bellomo of Tonawanda, N.Y., Antoinette Albanese of Kenmore, N.Y., and Josephine Pecora of Buffalo; one grandson and one granddaughter.

Visitation is planned from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. tonight, with a service at 7:30 p.m., at Bastian & Perrott Mortuary, 18728 Parthenia St. in Northridge. A funeral Mass is to be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, 15444 Nordhoff St. in Sepulveda, where Mrs. Barone was a member. Burial will follow at San Fernando Mission Cemetery in Mission Hills. Donations can be made in her name to the American Heart Association, Northwestern Division.
