Wyeth at the White House: Artist Andrew Wyeth, 73, said it was “really wild” to receive a congressional gold medal from President Bush. At a White House ceremony Wednesday marking the first such presentation to an artist, Bush said, “As the legislative citation reads: We act today in recognition of Andrew Wyeth’s outstanding and invaluable contributions to American art and culture. He is, of course, one of America’s foremost artists.” The medal was patterned after a portrait of Wyeth by his son Jamie.
