Countywide : State Parks Offer Frequent-User Passes
State parks in Ventura County are offering frequent-user passes to walk-in visitors and bicyclists.
Passes good through the end of the year will cost $5 for adults and $2.50 for children 6 to 17. In December, visitors will be able to purchase 1991 passes at $30 for adults and $15 for children. The passes cannot be used for vehicle entry into the parks.
Additional fees may be charged for tours, use of pools and entry into museums, visitor centers and state historic parks, according to the state Department of Parks and Recreation.
An annual day-use pass for frequent vehicle users is $75, a boat-use pass is $50 or a combination boat- and-day-use pass for $125. The parks also offer a Golden Bear Pass, at $5 per year for people 62 or older with limited incomes, and a Disabled Veteran Pass for a lifetime payment of $3.50.
State parks in the county include Emma Wood State Beach, McGrath State Beach, San Buenaventura State Beach and Point Mugu State Park.
