The Ocean View School District board last week appointed 10 community volunteers to an advisory board to help guide it through its 1991-92 budget preparation process.

The members of this year’s district Community Budget Advisory Committee are: Andrew Alligretti, a retired school principal; Sally Alvino, a Los Alamitos teacher and activist Ocean View parent; Robin Bowen, a school district maintenance director; Steve Buhrig, a former school board candidate and nursery shop owner; Gordon Busch, president of the Ocean View Parents Council and a machine repairman; Cynthia Kady, a nurse; Raymond Rockoff, an accountant; Margo Schoenke, an accountant; Carolyn Sommerfeld, a homemaker, and Nancy Stuever, a nurse and member of the district’s Integration Advisory Committee.

Most of the appointed members are parents of students attending Ocean View schools.

Each school board member appointed two members to the advisory panel. They will be joined on the committee by up to five district staff officials, Supt. Monte McMurray said.

A Community Budget Advisory Committee is set up each year to involve parents and other district residents in the budget process. Committee members analyze the district’s spending plan and make recommendations to the board on how Ocean View should allocate its money for the coming year.

The committee’s first meeting is scheduled April 15.
