Body of Man, 70, Is Taken From Aqueduct

The body of a 70-year-old man was found Sunday in the California Aqueduct in Llano, where he had gone fishing two days before, Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies said. Sheriff’s Department divers found the body about 11:35 a.m. in a portion of the aqueduct a quarter-mile west of Largo Vista Road in the eastern Antelope Valley, Sheriff’s Lt. Terry Lewis said.

“Apparently he fell into the aqueduct when he was fishing,” Lewis said. The search for the man, whose name was being withheld pending notification of relatives, began Saturday night, Lewis said. The man was last seen Friday afternoon, he said.
