LAKE FOREST : Residents Invited to Scroll-Signing Event
With three months to go before cityhood, Lake Forest officials will begin a countdown to incorporation with a scroll-signing party today.
The event will help prepare a time capsule, which will be embedded Dec. 20, the city’s first official day of incorporation.
Starting at noon at Heritage Hill Historic Park, the city-to-be is inviting all residents to write personal messages on specially treated scrolls that will be placed inside the capsule. City officials are asking for $2 from each signer to help defray the cost of preserving the scrolls.
Organizers have rounded up a group of celebrities and dignitaries to mark the celebration. Food will be served and prizes given away.
All five members of the City Council-elect are expected to attend, along with Orange County Supervisor Gaddi H. Vasquez. Heritage Hill Historic Park is at the corner of Lake Forest Drive and Serrano Road.
