Westminster 55, Santa Ana 53--Paul Frechette’s three-pointer with 17 seconds left capped the Lions’ comeback at Santa Ana. Westminster (5-9, 1-0) entered the fourth quarter trailing, 42-39, but outscored the Saints, 16-11, in the final eight minutes, during which Frechette scored nine of his 19 points.

Marina 70, Fountain Valley 56--Forward Darren Crooks scored 22 points and guard Matt Keim had five three-point shots to lead Marina (9-6, 1-0). Center Brendan Lyons added 14 points and 10 rebounds. Fountain Valley fell to 5-7, 0-1.
