Duarte : Business Center Satellite
The City Council has unanimously approved funding for a satellite of the Small Business Development Center.
The center, operated by the U.S. Small Business Administration, the state Department of Commerce and the Chancellor’s Office of Community Colleges, is located at Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut. It provides free business counseling, seminars and research services for firms of fewer than 500 employees.
As part of the city’s “Economic Renewal Program,” the city will pay a $50 per hour consulting fee to make the same services available in City Hall.
The council last Tuesday approved interim funding to open the satellite on May 1 and will consider first-year funding of $10,000 during budget deliberations for fiscal year 1992-93.
