The Execution of Harris
The Californians who go to church after supporting and thus collaborating in the murder at San Quentin should realize they are wasting their time. Better they should stay home and contemplate the words of Lord Macaulay, written 150 years ago: “The experience of many ages proves that men may be ready to fight to the death, and to persecute without pity, for a religion whose creed they do not understand and whose precepts they habitually disobey.”
