A 52-year-old man who wandered naked onto Pleasant Valley Road in Camarillo died Thursday after being struck by a car, authorities said.

Eddie Harrison, also known as Everett Ford among several other aliases, was walking along Pleasant Valley Road east of Wood Road on Wednesday at 11:15 p.m. when the accident occurred, Ventura County Deputy Coroner Jim Wingate said.

The impact of the crash threw Harrison 50 feet into a field, California Highway Patrol spokeswoman Staci Morse said.

Harrison was taken to St. John’s Regional Medical Center where he died Thursday, probably of massive internal injuries, Wingate said. An autopsy is to be conducted today.

James S. Bronaugh, 44, of Oxnard, was driving east on Pleasant Valley when his car hit Harrison, Morse said. Bronaugh was not cited.

Bronaugh drove to the county fire station at Camarillo Airport, where he reported the accident and asked for help, Morse said.

Wingate said Harrison, whose clothes and identification were not found, was identified by his fingerprints. His place of residence is still unknown. Coroner’s investigators are looking for relatives or friends of Harrison.

In a separate incident, a Camarillo man died from massive internal injuries suffered in a car accident earlier this week, coroner’s officials said.

Louis Saffran, 82, died Wednesday at Pleasant Valley Hospital, Deputy Coroner Dale Zentzis said.

Saffran was westbound on Adolfo Road on Monday when his vehicle crashed into a pole in a center divider near the intersection of Tahquitz Road, traffic investigators said.
