Sierra Madre : Hearing on Parking Fees
A public hearing on a proposal to increase fees for overnight street parking permits from $25 to $40 per year will take place at the Oct. 13 City Council meeting.
The new levy would include a $25 investigation fee for city staff to evaluate the need for such parking and confirm the absence of other available off-street parking facilities, and $15 for the permit.
Within city limits, where parking on streets is generally prohibited between 3 and 5 a.m., about 50 vehicles have overnight parking permits. An average of 173 citations for unlawful overnight parking are issued each month.
