COLLEGE FOOTBALL DAILY REPORT : UCLA : Reception Streak Was of No Concern
Wide receiver Sean LaChapelle, who had caught a pass in 27 consecutive games over the last three seasons, didn’t have any receptions during the Bruins’ 19-7 loss to Stanford last weekend. He sat out the second half because of a cracked rib.
“I can’t worry about streaks, especially when we’re losing,” LaChapelle said. “That wasn’t even on my mind.”
This is the first time UCLA has lost its first two conference games since 1979. The Bruins haven’t opened the season with three conference losses since 1943, when they were 0-4, losing two games to USC and twice to Cal.
