Clipper Fan Wants More of His Team
I think that your coverage of the Clippers’ two weekend games did a disservice to the team, its fans, and readers of The Times’ sports pages. You are contributing to an ongoing gap in the attention paid the Clippers vs. the Lakers.
My disappointment was deepened by the extensive coverage given the Lakers’ first game, focusing, of course, on Magic Johnson. Monday’s Laker story also focused on Johnson, this time his absence from the game. I’m not claiming Johnson is not news, but I am saying that the Clippers are also news.
How can they achieve the fan base and gain interest among L.A. sports fans if the biggest newspaper in the area ignores them?
