Commenting on the Commentator

Re Howard Rosenberg’s column “Breaking Up ‘White-Bread’ Look of TV Commentators” (Nov. 16):

It’s about time that a local TV station hire a “Latino-American” commentator. We need somebody like KABC-TV’s Rosemarie Vasquez, who just “pours out” what she feels and doesn’t confuse the facts with the logic.

Give us more emotional tirades like her recent one about the judgment of a Superior Court that allowed Cal State to charge “illegal” aliens out-of-state tuition. When are the Superior Court judges going to wake up and realize that illegal aliens are “in-state” residents because of the very fact that they sneaked into the state?

Vasquez proclaims that “it makes better sense to educate rather than incarcerate.” And I hope the first thing illegal aliens learn at taxpayer expense is that they are in this country illegally and are in violation of immigration laws. It’s better to deport than to support people who knowingly break the laws of this country and expect to be rewarded for it.
