BURBANK : Voting Precincts to Be Consolidated

Share

Burbank will consolidate 77 voting precincts established by Los Angeles County for the November election into 47 polling places for the February and April city elections as a cost-saving measure.

The proposal by City Clerk Marge Lauerman was approved 4 to 0 by the Burbank City Council on Tuesday. The February and April municipal elections are conducted solely in Burbank, which allows the city more flexibility in setting up polling places, Lauerman said.

The consolidation will save the city nearly $13,000 because fewer poll workers will be needed. City officials may also be able to avoid paying rent to set up polling places in private locations by using only public buildings, she said.
