Diamond Bar : Kim’s Successor Appointed
Retired attorney Dexter MacBride has been appointed to fill the City Council seat vacated by former Mayor Jay C. Kim, who won a congressional seat in November.
At a Dec. 15 meeting, the council made the selection from a field of 15 applicants.
MacBride, 75, a seven-year resident of the city, was a petition organizer for Diamond Bar’s cityhood in 1989. He also is a former planning commissioner and a member of the General Plan Advisory Council.
MacBride said he wants to work on programs for seniors and drug-education efforts.
