Overturned Car Backs Up Freeway Traffic
An overturned auto backed up northbound traffic for 30 minutes on the Orange Freeway Sunday.
In the accident, three adults and two young children escaped serious injury when their four-door sedan swerved to avoid debris in the road and overturned at about 11:20 a.m. in the No. 3 lane of the Orange Freeway near Tonner Canyon Road, said Capt. Kevin Kelly of the Brea Fire Department.
The worst injury was minor cuts to one of the adults, Kelly said. All the car’s occupants wore seat belts, he said. The names of the injured persons, who were transported to Brea Community Hospital, were not immediately known.
Traffic on the Orange Freeway was backed up to Imperial Highway until shortly before noon while emergency personnel cleared the overturned car, which blocked three lanes of traffic.
