SIGNING DAY: Los Alamitos quarterback Tim Carey and Esperanza defensive tackle Travis Kirschke are among 26 Orange County high school football players expected to sign letters of intent with colleges today (C6), the first day of the NCAA’s national signing period. . . . Carey has committed to Stanford, Kirschke to UCLA. Fresno State, perhaps capitalizing on its Freedom Bowl victory over USC, has the most county commitments with five. Stanford and UCLA are in line for three each.
