A Day for Fans of ‘Lives’

“Days of Our Lives” is gearing up for its annual Memorial Day Weekend fan gathering. This year the “Days of Our Lives” Fan Club is holding the bash with all cast members invited. Tickets are $60 for fan club members, $70 for non-members.

The festivities take place at the L.A. Equestrian Center in Burbank, from noon to 5 p.m., and include lunch, “Days” cast members showing off their musical talents and a chance for fans to mingle with their favorite daytime stars. In past years “Days” fans have come from as far as Australia.

Although ABC will not confirm or deny, insiders say Genie Francis’ return to “General Hospital” is a “done deal,” and a line from a recent show points to this being true. Scott (Kin Shriner) mentioned to Amy (Shell Kelper) that she once was his sister-in-law, a relationship not mentioned in almost eight years.

Also, “General Hospital” sources say “not true” when asked if Jack Wagner is returning as Frisco.

Catherine Hickland, Mrs. Michael E. Knight in real life, joins the cast of “Loving” on May 11. Hickland’s previous soap roles have included that of Julie Klegg on “Bold and Beautiful” and Dr. Courtney Marshall on “Texas.”

Hickland will portray Tess Wilder, a nanny who has an impact on Trucker’s life.

Parley Baer, whose television and stage credits are endless, joins “The Young and the Restless” along with veteran actress Maxine Stuart. Baer and Stuart play a married couple who turns to Cricket for legal advice.

In case you haven’t noticed, that’s Broadway veteran Elaine Strich as Wilma Bern on “One Life to Live.” Strich recently wowed them in New York--three standing ovations--when she and the original cast of Stephen Sondheim’s “Company” reunited for two special performances. The soldout Lincoln Center benefit was for Broadway Cares.
