Audubon Society’s Annual Picnic--The Sea & Sage chapter of the National Audubon Society will hold its annual picnic Aug. 3 at Irvine Regional Park in Orange.
The picnic begins at 6 p.m., but guests are welcome to come early for bird-watching and to check out the chapter’s re-vegetation projects at the park.
Guests are asked to bring a potluck dish to share and their own tableware and beverages.
An after-dinner search for nighthawks and owls is also planned, so guests are asked to bring flashlights.
Irvine Regional Park is at 1 Irvine Park Road.
To reach the park, take the Jamboree Road exit from the Santa Ana or San Diego freeway and go northeast, toward the hills. The park is near the point that Jamboree Road becomes Santiago Canyon Road, north of Chapman Avenue.
There is a $2 entrance fee to the park. After entering the facility, guests should follow the Sea & Sage chapter’s signs to the picnic site.
