CAMARILLO : Cyclist Dies in Crash Near Point Mugu
A Camarillo man died early Sunday after his motorcycle crashed near Point Mugu Naval Air Station, authorities said.
The identity of the 60-year-old man was being withheld until his relatives were notified.
The man was driving his 1982 Yamaha motorcycle north on Las Posas Road near Pacific Coast Highway when he lost control while rounding a curve at Calleguas Creek, a California Highway Patrol spokesman said.
The man, who was wearing a helmet, was thrown from his motorcycle into an embankment and the motorcycle landed on top of him, killing him instantly, officials said.
