Housing Award: Fieldstone Co. in Newport Beach is the Western regional recipient of the 1993 National Housing Quality Award.

Builders are judged on the role that quality plays in their strategic planning, control systems, management development and new-home design and construction techniques.

The awards, modeled after and sanctioned by the Department of Commerce’s Malcolm Baldridge National Quality Awards, are sponsored by Professional Builder magazine in conjunction with the research center of the National Assn. of Home Builders.

Fieldstone Co. is a major regional home builder. With Fieldstone Communities Inc. and Cypress Homes, it is part of Fieldstone Group of Cos., which reported 1,225 new-home sales last year and revenue of $301.5 million at its developments in San Diego, Orange, Riverside and San Bernardino counties.
