Lexus to Offer Used Cars With Warranty: The luxury car division of Toyota Motor Sales USA announced a program under which previously owned Lexus cars will be inspected and then certified with a Lexus warranty. Leases and financing comparable to those found on new Lexus cars will be available. Lexus, which sold its first cars in 1989, has more than 300,000 cars on the road. About 2,500 to 3,000 cars a month are now coming in as trade-ins at Lexus’ 167 U.S. dealers, said company spokesman Art Garner. Previously, Lexus dealers would sell the cars after a brief inspection and without a factory warranty.
