Room With a View (Bravo Sunday at 5 and 11:30 p.m.; Friday at 6 and 11 p.m.). is Merchant-Ivory’s airy, delectable, virtually irresistible 1986 film from E.M. Forster’s 1908 romance stars Helena Bonham Carter as a deceptively demure and proper flower of Edwardian England, whose emergence the film charts with perfection. With Maggie Smith, Denholm Elliott, Julian Sands, Daniel Day-Lewis, Simon Callow and Judi Dench.
Tomorrow (Bravo Monday at 5 p.m.), adapted by Horton Foote and directed by the late Joseph Anthony, is from a tender, austere William Faulkner story. Filmed in 1972, it stars Robert Duvall as a taciturn yet gentle Mississippi farmer.
The Woman Next Door (Bravo Tuesday at 5 and 9:30 p.m.; Saturday at 8:30 p.m.) and The Last Metro (Bravo Tuesday at 7 p.m.; Saturday at 5:30 p.m., next Sunday at midnight) are a pair of rewarding Truffaut films featuring Gerard Depardieu, teamed with Fanny Ardant in the first, Catherine Deneuve in the second.
