In Brief
** 1/2 The Band, “Jericho,” Pyramid. Seventeen years after this great outfit called it quits, this quasi-reunion suggests that 60% of the Band is better than none. When the material is good, you hardly notice songwriter Robbie Robertson’s missing pen; when it’s not, even the still-imposing vocals of Rick Danko and Levon Helm and the instrumental wizardry of Garth Hudson can’t save the day.
New albums are rated on a scale of one star (poor), two stars (fair), three stars (good) and four stars (excellent).
