SAO PAULO —
Brazilian police raided a fortress-style gambling house in Sao Paulo early Friday and arrested 20 people suspected of running the illegal casino, Brazilian television said.
The clandestine casino, complete with secret escape tunnels and hideaways, was housed in a mansion in the city’s elegant Morumbi district, where many foreign diplomats live.
Police used a Jeep to break down the front door and found eight gambling tables inside, equipped for roulette, blackjack and other games.
