Finland shut out Russia for the second time, 4-0, Saturday night to win the bronze medal. Their only other Olympic hockey medal was a silver in 1988.

For the first time, the Russians came away empty handed.

In their 10 previous Olympics as the Soviet Union and Unified Team, they won eight gold medals, one silver and one bronze. They were never shut out and had a 60-6-2 record. This year’s team finished at 4-4, including a 5-0 shutout by Finland in the second preliminary-round game.
