SANTA ANA : Police Officer Named Woman of the Year
A police officer has won recognition as Woman of the Year from State Assemblyman Tom Umberg (D-Garden Grove).
Umberg named Santa Ana Police Sgt. Irma Vasquez as Woman of the Year for the 69th Assembly District for her service and dedication to the community, he said.
“She is an excellent role model both for her colleagues in the Police Department and the many individuals . . . within the community,” Umberg said. “She exemplifies the spirit of excellence and dedication to which we should all aspire.”
Vasquez, a member of the Santa Ana Police Department since 1975, has served with the juvenile investigation, special investigations and homicide divisions, in addition to working as a patrol sergeant.
