VALLEY / VENTURA ROUNDUP : Wolf Expected to Miss Games
In the wake of his father’s death Sunday, El Camino Real High standout pitcher Randy Wolf is not expected to play in today’s games in the Thousand Oaks tournament.
“If he shows up, fine,” Conquistadore Coach Mike Maio said, “but baseball is secondary in his mind right now, as it should be.”
James Wolf, 56, died of a heart attack Sunday night after being admitted to West Hills Regional Medical Center.
Randy, last year’s City Section 4-A Player of the Year, did not play Monday in either of El Camino’s two tournament games, a 2-1 victory against Newbury Park and a 9-1 loss to Thousand Oaks.
Thousand Oaks has dedicated the tournament to James Wolf, Maio said.
