Gonzales showed off his hitting and pitching talents last Thursday in Cypress’ 6-4 victory over Saddleback. Gonzales hit three home runs and drove in four runs. He also made a significant contribution on the mound, giving up one hit and no runs in the final 4 2/3 innings for his first victory this season. The three home runs give him five for the season. Gonzales, from Tustin High, was nine for 15 as Cypress won two of three games last week. He is hitting .338 and is tied for the team lead in runs scored (34) and runs batted in (37).
Other notables:
* Wade Jackson, Saddleback, was seven for 11, including a grand slam. He drove in 11 runs as the Gauchos won one of three games.
