Agco to Acquire Massey Ferguson: Farm equipment maker Agco Corp. took a leap into the global market by agreeing to buy Britain-based tractor company Massey Ferguson Group Ltd. Agco, known until 1990 as Allis-Chalmers, is based in the Atlanta suburb of Duluth. It had 1993 sales of $596 million and now operates primarily in North America.
