‘Foxes, Hares, Bears’ Theme of Youth Fair
A free educational youth fair that attracted more than 12,000 people last year is scheduled for Friday through Sundayat the county fairgrounds.
Youth Expo will have hundreds of student competitions in subjects ranging from poetry to cattle raising. There will be a jazz festival, science and engineering project demonstrations, a talent search, a carnival and other attractions.
Almost 9,000 young people entered competitions last year.
The theme of this year’s expo is “foxes, hares and golden bears,” and there will be displays of California mammals. A group of young people who volunteer to help the Orange County Animal Control will display live rabbits and a mounted fox and bear.
The expo will run from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
