SIGNINGS : Corona del Mar’s Hoppe Signs With USC
Corona del Mar volleyball player Brooks Hoppe signed Thursday with the USC, according to Corona del Mar Coach Joey Fuschetti.
Hoppe, 6 feet 4, was named to the all-Sea View League team last season. He has played on the U.S. Junior National Elite Training team for last two years in Colorado Springs, Colo.

Erik Mattern, Mater Dei shortstop, has signed a letter of intent with Arizona, Monarch Coach Bob Ickes said Friday.
Mattern, whom Ickes described as “the best player on the team,” was a first-team All-South Coast League selection last season.
