PALOS VERDES PENINSULA : Meeting Will Focus on Library Cost-Cutting

Share

Faced with falling revenues and a controversial furniture bill of more than $1 million, the Palos Verdes Library District Trustees will hold a special meeting tonight in an attempt to cut expenses.

An architectural firm, Zimmer/Gunsel/Frasca, will present the trustees with new types of furniture that may allow the library district to cut its $1.2-million bill to $820,000.

Trustees will also consider a proposal to reduce the cost of shelving, which is budgeted at $294,422. Some of the furniture, part of the Peninsula Center Library renovation, has already been delivered.
