OXNARD : Ronstadt to Sing at Mexican Arts Festival
An Oxnard festival of Mexican music, dance and poetry will culminate tonight with a reading from renowned writer Homero Aridjis and a concert featuring Linda Ronstadt.
Sones y Cantares Mexicanos , sponsored by the Mexihcayotl Society for the Arts and Humanities, is the last event in a three-day series on high Mexican culture in Oxnard.
An array of esteemed professors of history, literature and music from Mexico’s top universities lectured audiences on the county’s unique forms of expression. The lectures were offset by performances from a variety of musicians and poets.
Tonight’s event will begin 7:30 at the Oxnard Civic Auditorium.
